Why dance?
Fun aside, dancing has so much to offer. Some of the benefits you can receive from dancing are: exercise, stress relief, increased confidence and social poise, and a creative outlet.


Is it easy to learn?
Yes! With proper instruction and sufficient practice, everyone can learn to dance. We will teach you the foundational steps first, and you will then be able to build up to more advanced combinations.

How long will it take me to become a good dancer?
At our studio, you will quickly establish confidence with the basic steps. However, the more you practice, the better you will become. As your dance education continues, you will engage in more advanced steps and styling.

Do I need a partner?
We offer lessons for singles and couples alike. Whatever your situation, our instructors will guide you. In group classes, both students and instructors will rotate partners. In private lessons, instructors will dance with students as needed.


Which dance should I start with?
Swing and Night Club Two Step are the best dances for most social situations, as they can be danced to a wide range of music. The most popular dance right now is Salsa, especially for those who enjoy Latin music. If you have no preference, and your goal is to learn a variety of dances, then the easiest one to start with is Merengue.

Should I start by learning only one dance?
All of the dances we teach are interrelated. In most situations, you will need to know a variety of steps in several dances, so it is usually best not to focus on only one type of dance.


What should I wear?
Dress comfortably, and use the shoes that you would wear to go dancing in. We do recommend that our students invest in dance shoes, as they will help you to move more easily, and can prevent dance-related injuries. We offer an assortment of them in the studio. We don't recommend sneakers, any other rubber-soled shoes, flip flops or platforms.

How often should I take classes?
Ideally once a week, but taking two or three classes a week will greatly accelerate your learning. If it's difficult for you to commit to weekly lessons, just remember that taking regular classes over a continuous period of time can also lead you to become a skilled, confident dancer.


What if I can't commit to regular classes?
You still have some great options.
1) Group Class Discount Punch Cards are available for those who need schedule flexibility in our weekly group classes.
2) Our workshops are one-time sessions, therefore you simply attend the ones that work for you.
3) Private lessons are by appointment, and therefore can fit into anyone's schedule.

What if I can't make my appointment?
As a courtesy to our instructors, we have a strict cancellation policy. To reschedule a private lesson, you must call at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson or forfeit it. All packages expire one year from the first class. All classes are non-transferable and non-refundable.


How do I find music to practice with?
The best way to make sure you have the right music for your chosen dance is to purchase one of our practice CDs, which are available in the studio.

Where will I use these dances?
The dances we teach can be used in any social dance situation. Although many students initially learn to dance for a specific occasion (such as a wedding, cruise or party), they find that dancing can become a lifelong hobby and passion. We also provide a variety of social venues where you can have fun while practicing your dance skills.

What benefits will I get from dancing?
Dancing can improve your mental, physical and emotional health. It can boost your confidence and help you to relax, and it's also a great way to have fun and make new friends. We think dancing is a perfect combination of mental stimulation, physical activity and social interaction!
